SHARES Lecture: ‘UN sanctions and their implementation: a case of shared responsibility?’, by Antonios Tzanakopoulos

On 10 January 2013, Dr. Antonios Tzanakopoulos will discuss the issue of ‘UN sanctions and their implementation: a case of shared responsibility?’.

Antonios Tzanakopoulos is Lecturer in Public International Law and Research Fellow at St. Anne’s College, University of Oxford. He is also Associate Editor for the Oxford Reports on International Law in Domestic Courts, Co-Rapporteur of the ILA Study Group on Principles on the Application of International Law by Domestic Courts, and an advocate with the Athens Bar in Greece.

His research covers all aspects of public international law, with particular focus on the law of international responsibility, the law of international organizations, the law of treaties, the settlement of international disputes, and the relationship between international and domestic law, including the application of international law by domestic courts. He published the monograph Disobeying the Security Council: Countermeasures against Wrongful Sanctions with Oxford University Press in 2011. Some other publications can be found on his SSRN page.
