Global cacao trade complicit in Ivory Coast atrocities
Commercial actors, such as those from the cacao industry in the Ivory Coast, have profited from and contributed to the wide-scale misery of the civilian population. These companies have therefore been complicit in the theft of natural resources and could be liable under a variety of aiding and abetting theoriesĀ of international law.
